Dr Leah Gellert

Dr Leah Gellert is a female consultant Gastroenterologist based in Sydney’s East and South Eastern Suburbs.  

Leah consults from rooms in Bondi Junction and Kogarah.  She performs procedures at Double Bay Day Hospital, St George Private Hospital and Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

Leah completed her undergraduate training with First Class Honours from the University of NSW and then completed a Masters of Medicine by Research from The University of Sydney.  Leah has also undertaken advanced research with the Bowel Cancer & Digestive Research Institute Australia on identifying key factors for improving bowel cancer screening, especially for families at higher risk.

Leah has a particular interest in the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer. She also offers practical advice and management of common gastroenterological complaints such as abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, constipation, diarrhoea and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
